Estate Planning
In estate planning matters, we strive to be good listeners and to
look at the whole picture in developing a customized strategy to
meet our client’s goals for asset preservation, charitable
intentions and addressing the special needs and circumstances of
loved ones. The process begins by asking the client to complete
a comprehensive questionnaire. We review the answers and their existing
wills, deeds, insurance and trust documents and then propose a comprehensive
plan of action, with projected results/savings, along with a proposed
fixed fee to execute plan. The plans could include implementation
of one or more of the following:
-
Retitling and redistribution of assets between spouses
-
Transfer of life insurance policies into Irrevocable Life Insurance
Trust (ILIT)
-
Establishment of charitable remainder or charitable lead trusts
-
Drafting of new Wills, to include credit shelter trust or special
needs trust provisions
-
Creation of Revocable trusts, and retitling of assets into same,
to avoid the headaches and costs of probate
-
Establishment of a Qualified Personal Residence Trust (QPRT)
-
Preparation of Family Limited Partnerships (FLP) to take advantage
of minority interest discounts for gift tax purposes.
- We
also regularly administer estates ranging from very small to those
in the multimillion dollar range with the Register of Wills offices
and Orphans’ Courts in all Maryland counties, and prepare
complex Federal Estate Tax, fiduciary and gift Tax returns.
Immigration
and Naturalization
Today,
Immigration Law is perhaps more challenging than any other due to
laws and regulations, which seem to change almost on a daily basis.
Often we come across clients who tried to “go it alone: only
to have fallen unknowingly into one of the many legal traps that
presently exist. By then, it is often too late for our firm to repair
the damage. Effective, aggressive representation in dealings with
the INS or the Immigration Court has never been more crucial.
The
Law Offices of Richard W. Moore has the expertise and the experience
to provide you with high-quality representation you need. For the
past 30 years, we have successfully represented clients from all
over the glove in all types of immigration matters such as the following:
-
Removal and Deportation Family – based visa petitions Labor
certifications and H-1B visas
- Citizenship
applications Asylum and withholding of removal Criminal waivers
- Appeals
to the BIA Motions to Reopen As members of the American Immigration
Lawyers Association, we devote considerable resources to keep
abreast of the ever-changing immigration landscape.

negotiating g contracts, buy-sell agreements, and employment agreements,
and in forming new business entities.

often we can quote you a fixed fee for the engagement up front.

you with high-quality representation. Our extensive estate planning
experience is also crucial in providing the highest quality representation
to closely-held business owners. We also provide our clients with
